Before you take flight, enjoy an express meal from the wide selection of dishes, locally sourced beverages and award winning coffee all with a casual feel within Brisbane Airport. The brief was to design a quality, fun venue, offering hot cooked meals, speedy service, all with a casual feel within Brisbane Airport. The Venue needed to reflect a sense of place (Brisbane & Airport), plus develop a new brand identity on the chosen name ‘The Pier’ (and not reflect the obvious sea-side pier). So we took subtle cues from the retro era of Palm Springs and evolved this into a contemporary look, which doesn’t focus on the seaside pier, but rather what someone would do on it and around it. Hence the paper plane in the logo which connects the airport and the fun we had as kids.
